This courtyard was redesigned for our clients to not only create a more usable space but to include some influence from their recent visits to Japan. The use of light coloured Limestone contrasts with the old red brick walls, while the foliage from the Japanese Holly, ferns and Fatsia keep the overlooked space green throughout the year. A specimen Acer ‘Sango Kaku’ and chunky bamboo poles add interest and height.

We added small points of interest such as lighting, mirrors, pots and even a brass rain chain to a previously broken downpipe. The finished result is a series of minor changes combined to complete the space and bring some life back into this well used space.
